Chairperson


An Arts Educationist, trainer, arts and culture policy analyst and strategist with 38 years of experience, Motsumi Makhene brings considerable leadership expertise as Chairperson of International Jazz Day South Africa. He is also a composer, arranger, poet, lyricist and producer; a visual artist and design enthusiast.


 
 

Nomshado Twala

Global Jazz Ambassador


Shado is a well established media and public relations practitioner who has experience of over 25 years in the various disciplines. She brings a wealth of skilled knowledge and a wide network in the media sector. With over a decade of marketing experience under her belt, Shado is currently managing her own entertainment business, Black Olive Entertainment. It is through this company that a platform for musical dialogue was established – The Sound Bites Series


 
 

Brenda Sisane

Executive Director


Ms Sisane started her career in radio and television broadcasting and became a company director of a PR consulting firm in 1995. Her experience in this sector has seen her specializing and diversifying from basic PR Consulting to International Relations and recently the Creative Arts.


 
 

Hugh Masekela

Global Jazz Ambassador


The convenors of International Jazz Day South Africa are proud and very honoured to have the world renown jazz icon South African trumpeter Dr Hugh Masekela on board as a Continental patron. Bra Hugh, as he is popularly known, is also the Worldwide Ambassador of International Jazz Day.
